Precious

NOC Junior Engineer

Responsibility:
I ensure modems are always online and services are working as expected.

Time spent with us:
A year and 9 months (9 months as an intern and 1 year as a full-time worker)

What did you do before Omni?

I was studying Telematic Engineering at the University of Balearic Island as well as playing football at a semiprofessional level for the Mallorcan third division team.

Besides being a beautiful place to live (HQ employees), why did you choose Omni?

I chose Omniaccess because of the type of work they/we do, I think it is something out of the norm. Working with VSAT technology and talking to people around the world, that is awesome! Moreover, many of my classmates who have/are currently working here spoke well of this company.

What is a typical day (or week) like for you?

Most days are routine like, go to work, get back home, take a nap (essential), hang out with my friends, go to train with my football team, workouts… During the weekends I normally go to church where I play drums in the local worship group, I also enjoy going to see the occasional movie.

What's your favorite part about working for us?

I think it is the environment and people I’m surrounded with. To be surrounded by colleagues who are kind and eager to help, really helps a lot, specially being at this early stage of my professional career.

Any hobbies you would like to share with us?

As previously mentioned, I love to play football, or what Americans call “soccer”, I play drums, listen to music, dance, read, play beach volleyball, etc..

What are your proudest achievements / accomplishments to date (work &/or personal)?

Play and score at “tercera division” in football, the opportunity to play at a concert with hundreds of people (an album was produced from this concert), preach at the church, and obtaining my university degree.

Who built the pyramids?

The Egyptians. We could argue if it was done by slaves or free workers.

If you had a Superyacht where would you go and what would you do?

I would take a transatlantic trip to the US in order to visit my older brother Prince, as it has been 5 years since I last saw him. I would also like to visit some places like the Caribbean Islands and Australia.

In 1964 Artur C. Clarke predicted “a world in which we can make instant contact with each other wherever we may be”. If you had a crystal ball, what would your predictions for the future be?

I’m going to be positive and hope that the world will be a better place, a safer environment, hopefully one without any climate change crisis, and most definetly a world in which people treat each other with respect as they deserve to. As for my personal prediction, I hope to grow and be better in all my endeavors, both professionally as well as personally.

A favourite quote
or phrase

I really do not have one particular or favorite quote, I have had many phrases, quotes and especially Bible verses (as I am a Christian) that have accompanied me throughout my life. One of them is:

“The pain is real, but so are the gains”.

For me, the phrase emphasizes that whilst life situation can get difficult, as long as you persist, you are consistent, you put in the work and do not give up, then sooner or later you will obtain results. It has helped me during many hard moments in my life when I needed to be disciplined and keep going no matter the difficulty.
