What did you do before Omni?

Various sales roles, including that of sales manager at ONO, a land based telecoms and cable TV service based here in Spain that was eventually acquired in 2014 by Vodafone Spain. My typical clients consisted in large business accounts requiring dedicated fibre internet connections, “multiprotocol label switching” (MPLS) to create virtual private networks (VPNs) and of course phone lines.

Prior to this, I worked for ICT Electronics, a small manufacturer of telecom-test-instruments based in Barcelona. After graduation, this was my first fulltime work experience, I really enjoyed the regular work trips that took me traveling around the globe to places like China, Malaysia, Oman, KSA, South Africa and others.

Besides being a beautiful place to live (HQ employees), why did you choose Omni?

OmniAccess was quite small when I first joined, much smaller than my first job at ICT Electronics. I immediately sensed the passion and energy of the small team with big ambitions. After working for 13 years at ONO I was ready for a change, and as I really enjoyed living on the island I wanted to remain here in Mallorca. The combination of being able to build on my previous work experience, being an international company as well as the “sexy” nature of the whole superyacht industry was a big plus.

What is a typical day (or week) like for you?

A typical weekday would start with me dropping off my daughter to school. I usually wake up earlier a couple of times per week to go for a 1hr run, this mentally prepares me and energises me for the day ahead. Once in the office I will review my plan for the day, juggling between various email request, meetings, and pending tasks. At times I will adapt my original plan on the go as unexpected request arise, but generally my goal is to provide support to the sales department ensuring a positive, high-energy environment. My other passion is cooking, I find preparing dinner is a great way to release stress after a long day at work!

What's your favourite part about working for us?

Most definitely the people and the company culture. I really enjoy working with a skilled and international team of fun people!

Any hobbies you would like to share with us?

Lately I have been getting into trail running. I like the combination of fitness with the exploration of new breathtaking locations around the island. Throughout the week I will plan and increasingly look forward these new unexplored trails. I find this is the best way for me to instantly connect back with nature. Oh, and on a more intellectual note, I enjoy learning new languages when time permits.

What are your proudest achievements/accomplishments to date (work &/or personal)?

This would have to be raising my family in Mallorca, I have a son and 2 daughters that I am very proud of, and in terms of work, well I am impressed how my sales team responded to the lockdowns and various restrictions, they kept strong, motivated, and flexible throughout, many juggling busy family lives whilst working from home.

Who built the pyramids?

The Egyptians? Or did you mean the Mayan pyramids?

If you had a Superyacht where would you go and what would you do?

If I had a superyacht I would certainly explore the more remote regions of the world, rather than sticking to Med and Caribbean. I would like to explore remote Pacific Islands and South East Asia. New Zealand and Scandinavia would also be on my agenda.

In 1964 Artur C. Clarke predicted “a world in which we can make instant contact with each other wherever we may be”. If you had a crystal ball, what would your predictions for the future be?

I see a drastic reduction in the number of languages we speak globally and the loss of our current sense of “nationalism”.
